Welcome fellow food lovers. I'm so excited to share with you all of the fun I have cooking for my family. I feel that its one of the best ways to show my kids how much I love them. Now that they are getting older they are interested in cooking with me. This is particularly exciting since we can learn together. And its a life skill. One day they will need to know how to cook for themselves. 'Nuking Ramen doesn't count.

My love for cooking has slowly evolved. I've always enjoyed doing it, even when I was a little girl, however, my mom always kicked me out of the kitchen. I suppose it had to do with the fact that I like to modify recipes. I taste as I cook and adjust accordingly. My dear mother preferred to follow the recipes exactly. Dont get me wrong. Thats not a bad thing. Its just not for me. Funny thing is, as I have gotten older, I have discovered that my mom does NOT know how to cook. lol. I don't mean any disrespect and she knows this. We were a poor family so she did what she could, however, I still joke with her and say that I didn't know that a steak wasn't supposed to taste like leather until I moved out.

Now as you might have guessed by the name, not all of my meals have been a huge success. That's all right with me though. Because you live and learn. In fact I have some really great stories about my food failures. As long as I have the ability to laugh at myself, then whats the worst that can happen?
